We are dedicated to

Treating the
Whole Patient

We help patients with a variety of conditions to find ways to understand to cope and work toward a fulfilling life. We also work with families and significant others to provide support and healing.

Our Approach

Personal Attention

We adhere to the belief that we treat patients, not conditions. Our private practice provides a higher level of patient care. By limiting the number of daily appointments, we can engage in longer sessions that adapt to specific patient requirements. With longer sessions, patients feel freer to express their concerns in detail to their doctor.

Highly Responsive

Responsive treatment begins with the first phone call. Our scheduling process is prompt, courteous and attentive to your individual needs. Knowing that your psychiatric provider places a premium on providing timely treatment is an essential first step to restoring your mental well-being.

Out of Network

The freedom and flexibility we have to align patient needs with the most effective treatment means we operate outside of conventional insurance networks and restrictions. We provide you with treatment documentation for your insurance and can also help you obtain insurance authorizations. In our experience, your insurance will cover the cost of most medications.

No Insurance Dictates

Our private practice is based on the ethos that everyone’s care needs are highly individualistic. The result of this is that we are not tethered to insurance providers and consequently do not have to adhere to their treatment protocols. Often insurers restrict the number of visits and the type of treatment provided. Our commitment stands exclusively with you as a prospective patient to help you and your family.

Integrated Psychotherapy and Psychopharmacology

Dr. Cotoman believes that an integrated approach that combines the best aspects of psychotherapy and psychopharmacology is essential for patients to restore their well-being. In many instances, both modalities are required, particularly for complex cases. Rather than “splitting” treatments, in which the patient has to see both a therapist and a psychiatrist, Dr. Cotoman can holistically assess a patient’s needs. The benefits of private psychiatry derive from a focused assessment combined with scheduling treatment sessions tailored to patient needs.
